About
the Judge A Primary School teacher for 35 years, now retired and having time to pursue his hobbies of woodturning as well as collecting old tools. Reg has been involved in the Dog world for most of his life in Victoria, Australia - always having a Smooth-haired Fox Terrier as a mate. In 1970 his marriage to Jan (a Scottish Terrier exhibitor) saw the introduction to the world of Scotties and the show scene. Reg and his wife have been successful breeders and exhibitors of Scotties as well as Smooth Fox Terriers – showing them through to Best in Show in Australia and New Zealand - making up more than 30 Champions. He was granted a licence to judge all breeds of Terriers at Championship Show level, in 1977. His licence enabling him to judge Terriers extensively throughout Australia as well as several appointments in New Zealand and 2 invitations to judge Scotties in Japan. The kennel prefix 'RUADH' has produced the outstanding Ch. Ruadh Rare Decision and Ch. Ruadh Annie's Song. Rare Decision was awarded B.I.S. at the 1988 Scottish Terrier Club of Victoria Championship Show judged by our President, Mrs Freda Wright. The strength behind the 'Ruadh' breeding has come from the 'Macglam' Scottish Terriers, having purchased a bitch from Mrs B & Miss J Hobson in 1976, also using imported dogs at stud from New Zealand. Reg is a past Secretary of two All Breed Kennel Clubs and past President and Committee Member of the Scottish Terrier Club of Victoria, a current member of the Victorian Canine Association (since 1968) and a Committee Member of the Victorian Poultry & Kennel Club. Reg is looking forward to the privilege of officiating at the 2009 STBEA Open Show. Reg - we hope you will enjoy judging our show and your first ever visit to the UK. |
